Walter Rhee

Walter Rhee received his B.S. in marine biology from Cornell and an M.S. in food science in from UHM.  


He has taught food science at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, UH-Manoa, and the KCC culinary program.


Walter's specialty is explaining the hows and the whys of cooking in the manner of Alton Brown & Bill Nye


The presentation will explain the scientific properties of macronutrients - water, carbohydrates, protein, & lipids when cooking. Taste & umami in cooking will also be discussed.
