Myocardial architecture for efficient pump functionality of the heart
Heart failure following a heart attack is a leading cause of death in Hawaii and the US. Minimizing the damage of heart muscle cells is a primary way to protect the heart against heart failure. Dr Matsui will discuss the myocardial architecture that is modified by a heart attack and the cellular mechanisms that protect heart muscle cells.
