Revisiting and Revising Hawaii's Groundwater Models

 

Don Thomas is director of the Center for the Study of Active Volcanoes at the University of Hawaii. One of his major reearch interests is the flow of freshwater on large volcanic islands, a subject that led to the drilling of several very deep boreholes, mainly on the Big Island.

 

Dr. Thomas will discuss some of the recent findings of his research program and its implications for water resource management in Hawaii.
